Engraved fore-title, engraved vignette on title page, and 16 engravings by Arnold Loemans. Contemporary vellum. A very good copy. Bookplate. A work on the crucifixion of Christ by the Augustinian friar Corneille de Corte (1590-1638), with discussion of various artistic representations thereof, focussing on the nails and the wounds caused by them. This edition begins with an engraved title-page and is illustrated with 17 engravings by Arnold Loemans, all but one full-page, including some varied and interesting depictions of crucifixes.
